Passing the GED

What does it take to pass the GED?

Many people ask, how much do I actually have to know to pass the GED? What level do I need to be at? The GED measures knowledge in five different areas. These areas are Math, Social Studies, Science, Reading, and Writing. The passing scores for each section of the GED Test are based on the estimated passing rate of graduating high school seniors. Before the version of the test is used, it is administered to a sample group of graduating high school seniors. The scores were normed so that the pass rate on the test was about 60%, meaning that approximately 60 percent were estimated to be able to pass the tests on their first try. So, how much do you actually have to know to pass the GED? What level do you need to be at. In order to pass the GED, you must perform as well as or better than 60 percent of graduating high school seniors.
